About me

Having trained in what I think is best described as contemporary object relations psychoanalytic psychotherapy at Queen’s University, Belfast I am a member of the Northern Ireland Institute for Human Relations (NIIHR) and a registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP) through which I hold the European Certificate in Psychotherapy.  I spent about thirteen years working with colleagues at Threshold a mental health agency providing residential therapeutic communities and for the past six years have developed a private practice building up Bobby Moore Consultancy.

I have been very privileged to develop relationships with colleagues from the American Group Psychotherapy Association (AGPA) with whom I have registered as a Certified Group Psychotherapist.  In particular I work with colleagues from the Northeastern Society for Group Psychotherapy (NSGP) based in Boston, Massachusetts.

As a member of the International Association of Facilitators (IAF) I have worked with organisations to design, implement and review Strategic and Operational Plans as well as review ongoing projects aligning them with the organisations’ vision, mission statement and value base.

I am currently Director of supervision training at PCI College in Clondalkin, Dublin where along with Liam McGrath we offer the Advanced Diploma in Supervision and link with Michael Carroll from the Centre for Supervision Training (CST) to develop supervision training for supervisors in a wide range of professional settings.  I also work as a Director with the Supervisors Association of Ireland (SAI) where we are working towards a more robust professional body supporting supervisors from many professions.

For the past number of years I have worked as External Examiner for the Community Housing and Therapy (CHT) therapeutic community organisation in London.  As consultant I worked with them recently to upgrade the group psychotherapy programme from undergraduate to postgraduate Diploma / Masters level. The course is accredited by Middlesex University.

I completed my Doctorate at the Metanoia Institute, London through a participative action research inquiry into the experience of group supervision I offered for the Trauma Resource Team in the Belfast Trust and continue at the Institute as Academic Advisor to two of the current Doctoral candidates from Ireland.

For two years I facilitated the Annual General Meeting of the Conference of Religious of Ireland (CORI) and continue to work with a range of Religious Communities facilitating Chapters, Provincial Assemblies, Leadership Team building and reviewing of community processes.  I also work within a number of Dioceses in Ireland facilitating groups of clergy and laity.
